Olga was born April 27, 1930, in Crosby, N.D., the daughter of Paul and Anna (Anderson) Hammer. She was raised on a farm by Ambrose, N.D., and graduated from Crosby High School. She worked at Farmers State Bank in Crosby (and kept in touch with some of her co-workers until just very recently.)

She and Orvin Ege were united in marriage on June 23, 1955, with her sister, Agnes, and Orvin’s brother, Alven, standing up for them. Agnes and Alven were also present at Orvin and Olga’s 50th anniversary celebration. Orvin and Olga farmed by Stanley, N.D. Then Orvin began working for Oscar Sundhagen at the Crosby Furnace and Tin Shop, and Orvin and Olga eventually purchased the business. Olga did the accounting for many years. They moved to Valley View Heights in Bismarck in October 2010.

Olga and Orvin were longtime members of Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby and Olga was active in Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing the piano, drawing, sewing, and did beautiful embroidery work.

Olga is survived by: her husband of 57 years, Orvin; her daughters, Karen (Hugh) Vallely, Parker, Colo., and their children, Justin and Nicole, and Cynthia (Derek) Solberg, Bismarck, and their children, Andrew and Kirsty.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sigurd; and her sisters, Anna, Tillie, Agnes, Alice, Berniece, and Luella.
