Dolores Williams, 85, Minot, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in a Minot adult foster care home.
Dolores was born on Dec. 30, 1926, in Minot, the daughter of Erling and Alvina (Renz) Knutson. She was reared and educated in Minot. Over the years she worked at the City of Minot Assessor’s Office, Wylie Piano Co. ( as a piano demonstrator), the Minot Veterans Administration and John Moses Hospital, in secretarial duties, and more recently at Harley’s Arrowhead Amoco, as a bookkeeper. She retired in 1994.
Dolores married Donald Williams April 18, 1948, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where he worked for the Minot Fire Department. Donald died on Sept. 9, 1996. Dolores continued to live in Minot.
Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot. Over the years, she played organ in duets at St. Paul’s. For the last 12 years, she was active in the Wednesday Bible Study at the Parker Senior Center in Minot. She was also a member of Souris Valley Kidney Association.
Dolores is survived by: her daughter, Nancy (Richard) Nelin, Lead, S.D.; and a number of very dear cousins.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Williams.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: Are preferred to KHRT Radio, Minot Youth for Christ, the Salvation Army or an organization of the donor’s choice.
