Annie Semmen Larson
Annie Semmen Larson, 88, Minot, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in a Minot nursing home.
Annie was born May 15, 1924, at Roseglen, to Ole and Josie (Johnson) Haugen. She grew up on the family farm near Roseglen and attended Blue Hill School near Roseglen.
On Jan. 26, 1942, she married John A. Semmen in Sidney, Mont. They farmed near Douglas, where they raised their five sons, twins, Dale and Dean, and Delmer, David and Russell.
In 1986, they moved to their home in Minot.
Annie played piano for the Douglas Methodist Church for many years, where she was a member. She also sang with her special friend, Lorna Sambor, for many special occasions at church and other gatherings.
Annie sold Tupperware for many years and loved having the parties and delivering the Tupperware. John died in October 1989 in Minot.
She married Oliver Larson on Dec. 31, 1993, and they made their home in Minot. Oliver and Annie loved to travel.
Annie was a member of First Baptist Church, Minot, and the XYZ group of the church. In her younger years, she was a member of the Douglas School Board and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
Annie is survived by: her husband, Oliver, Minot; sons, Dale (Corrine), Minot, Delmer (Sallie), Gold Canyon, Ariz., and Russell (Gayle), Semmen, Ryder; daughter-in-law, Linda Semmen, Spokane, Wash.; grandchildren, Julie (John) Drady, Sheri (Dave) Briggs, Nancy (Greg) Tschetter; John Semmen, Michael Semmen and Debbie Semmen; Wanda (Scott) Merrihew, Brian (Marla) Semmen, Darin Semmen, Chad Semmen, Amy (Lance) Makeeff and Mickey Semmen; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua Drady, Sydney, Alyssa and Courtney Briggs, Brenna Becca and Benjamin Tschetter; Kain (Katelyn) Merrihew, Ashley Merrihew, Noah, Gracie and Joey Semmen, Victoria Semmen, Kennedy, Hayley and Reese Semmen; Jordan Lee Semmen and Kacee Gayle Makeeff.
A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband John; sons Dean and David; parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Minot.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation: Today, Jan. 4, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: Are preferred to First Baptist Church, Minot, or the donor’s choice.
