Kelly Uhrmacher

Kelly S. Uhrmacher, 47, Minot, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in a Minot hospital.

Kelly was born April 28, 1965, in Waterford, Pa., a daughter of John and Theresa (Barczynski) Winston. She was raised and educated in Waterford, graduating from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1983. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Minot, where she met Joe Uhrmacher, whom she married on Nov. 26, 1987. Her son, Dennis, was born in 1988. She worked for a number of years as the parish secretary at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. She then attended Minot State University, graduating in 2005 with a degree in accounting. She then assisted her husband in the operation of Realistic Auto.

Kelly was devout in her Roman Catholic faith and its traditions. She was active in the church as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and was currently a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot.

Kelly served as a Brownie leader, a Cub Scout leader and a Boy Scout leader. She loved to read, do needlepoint and cross-stitching, cook and bake, and she loved cats. She was intrigued by deep space, dreaming of what was out in the universe and beyond. She loved Minot and North Dakota, and often took relatives who came to visit on tours throughout North and South Dakota.

Kelly is survived by: her husband, Joe; her son, Dennis, of Minot; her brothers, James (Xavier) Winston, of Carmel Valley, Calif., and John (Chandra) Winston, of McKean, Pa.; her sisters, Melanie (Dennis) Overmoyer, of Erie, Pa., JoAnne (Richard) Dibell, of Waterford, Pa., Mary (Gregory) Lippold, of Bentleyville, Pa., Theresa (Scott) Greenman, of Waterford, Pa., and Jacqueline (Gerald) Smith, of Grove City, Pa.; her father, John Winston, of Waterford, Pa.; her sisters-in-law, Denise (Steve) Murphy, of Minot, and Deborah (Kevin) McHugh, of Oshkosh, Wis.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sherwood and Alta Uhrmacher, of Mission, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa; and her brother, Patrick Winston.

Memorials: Are preferred to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot or your local animal shelter.

Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, 10 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Today, Jan. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil prayer service: Today, 8 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
