Hello, Visit Minot

Good-bye, Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau. Hello, Visit Minot.

After lengthy research and planning, the former Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau has changed its name and logo as it moves into the future while continuing its purpose of promoting the city as a destination for tourists, shoppers and conventions.

The rebranding includes a redesigned and enhanced website that offers more information than ever before to anyone looking to visit the Magic City. There’s also a new logo, which will adorn all items relating to the new Visit Minot.

Executive director Wendy Howe said the time was right for the rebranding, given Minot’s current economic and population booms and drastic and ongoing changes in the city’s hotel, restaurant and business climate. The change “aligns our identity with our purpose,” Howe said this week.

The change allows the office to continue to focus on attracting conventions and other business-related gatherings to Minot, while also putting more emphasis on promoting Minot and the surrounding areas as a tourist destination.

As the city continues its physical transformation because of ongoing flood recovery efforts, a booming economy and a growing population, Howe’s task continues to be telling Minot’s story, from increased shopping opportunities to hotel room availability to tourist attractions both new and old to additional business opportunities. The new website is easy to navigate, full of information potential visitors will need to plan their trip to Minot, and the new logo puts a bright, new face on the whole rebranding effort.

The time is right for change, but that also means there’s more pressure on everyone at Visit Minot to produce measurable results, such as attracting more events to help keep all the city’s new hotel rooms full and helping boost the number of shoppers and tourists making Minot a regular destination.

We suspect Visit Minot welcomes the challenge.
