Monica Heit, 88, Minot died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.
Monica Bolmer was born Oct. 23, 1924, a daughter of William and Mary (Meier) Bolmer, in Bisbee. She was raised and educated in Bisbee, where she graduated from high school in 1942. Following graduation, she furthered her education by attending Devils Lake Technical College.
On April 10, 1944, Monica was united in marriage to Joseph Heit in Bisbee. Following their marriage, they made their home in Bisbee, Starkweather, and then Minot, where Monica worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center as a nurses’ aide. Joseph died April 27, 1983. She continued to live in Minot.
Monica was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, where she was active in the St. Louise Altar Society.
Monica is survived by: children, James (Judy) Heit, Seattle, Wash., Patricia (Ron) Lucier, Minot, David (Mary) Heit, Minot, Mary Kay (Glenn) Talmage, Spokane, Wash., Dennis (Karen) Heit, Fargo, Melissa (Terry) Schusted, Granite Falls, Wash., Brenda Kenny, Minot; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Jerome Heit; parents, Mary (Meier) and William Bolmer; sisters, Beverly Loeher and Shirley Quandrud; brother, William Bolmer; and a half brother, LeRoy Gross. Monica was the last surviving member of the William Bolmer family.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot .
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, Jan. 18, from noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and from 6 to 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Vigil prayer service: Friday, 7 p.m., Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
