Jessie Kirk, 40, of Westhope, died Thursday, Feb. 7, in Westhope. A memorial service will be held today, Feb. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westhope.
Jessie Kirk, a son of Gail and Cindy (Ness) Kirk, was born Dec. 15, 1972, at Bottineau. He was reared and educated in Westhope.
After his education he began working in the oil fields. He also helped his sister, Janelle, with starting her company, Kirk’s Auto Cleaning. Jessie worked for a short time with Nash Finch in Minot. He returned to the oil fields, working for Ham’s Well Service and later Enson Drilling. An injury forced him to retire early. Jessie had since resided in Westhope.
He enjoyed riding motorcycle, snowmobiles and playing darts. Jessie loved his big dog, Jake. His family was very important to him; he was always there for his family. He always said “I love my family.”
Jessie is survived by: his parents, Gail and Cindy Kirk, of Westhope; sisters, Jodi and her husband, Pat Nehring, of Minot, and Janelle Kirk and her friend, Laurie Ostrom, of Minot; nephews, Derek, Brett and Kaleb; and a niece, Jennifer Nehring.
Jessie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Eunice Ness and Helen and Elmo Kirk; aunt, Pam Schweitzer, and uncles, David and Curtis Ness.
