Julie Vollmer, 48, Sioux Falls, died Feb. 23, 2013, near Sioux Falls.
Julie Louise Vollmer was born Nov. 5, 1964, in Kenmare to Merrill and LaDonna Rodin. She graduated in 1983 from Kenmare High School. In 1986, she graduated with a nursing degree from Medcenter One School of Nursing, in Bismarck. She was currently working at Sanford Health in the post-partum section of The Birth Place.
She enjoyed going to every school event to support her children. She always wanted to make sure her family knew she loved and cared for them by spending time with them generously. She had a heart for not only her own children, but for others as well. Julie loved to make others laugh through her fun-loving ways. Her faith in God was a high priority in her life. She always stressed to never lose your faith in Jesus Christ through life’s difficulties.
Julie is survived by: her daughter, Brittany Joy Vollmer, who attends Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa; parents, Merrill and LaDonna Rodin, of Kenmare; sister, Carla, and brother-in-law, Jay Wahlund, of Minot, and their children, Brecca, Jaden, Paxten, Allie, and Abbie Wahlund; and brother, Lenny, and sister-in-law, Sue Rodin, of Kenmare, and their children, Hunter, Jacob, and Brooklyn Rodin.
Visitation, with family present: Will be held at Sioux Falls Christian High School Sioux Falls, today, Feb. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral: Friday, March 1, at 11 a.m., in the Sioux Falls Christian High School gymnasium. Following the service, the burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to assist Brittany Vollmer with future education-related expenses.
