Linda May Patterson, 63, Minot, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Linda May Borreson was born into this world on June 25, 1949, in Crosby, to Einar and Rose Borreson. She was raised and educated in Crosby, and while in high school worked on her parents’ farm. Linda went to college for two years in Williston and worked in the nursing home there. She then moved to Minot and worked as a certified nursing assistant in the hospital, where she met her husband while treating his father.
On Nov. 9, 1974, Linda May Borreson was united in marriage to Henry Patterson in Crosby. They had three children, a daughter and two sons who are twins.
Linda helped her husband with the cleaning business but when the children came she stayed home for the first 10 years. Linda then started to use her skills and help the disabled for another 15 to 20 years through Easter Seals. When that was completed she worked at The Pathway, a small Christian bookstore. She did home care for a while and then worked on the park board. Linda wanted a filing job and wanted help with computers, so she joined Experience Works and was placed in a position of assistant activity director at the nursing home.
Linda was a great mom, getting involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as a leader. She participated in her church choir, as a Sunday school teacher and in other areas of Our Redeemer’s and Bethel Free Lutheran churches. Linda also helped the Salvation Army as a volunteer during the flood. The blind association was also helped by her.
Linda loved to spend time with her family, especially her only grandson, Trevor. She loved golfing, frolfing, bowling, swimming, camping, barbecues and bonfires with s’mores, and her favorite was hot dogs. Linda was very proud of her garden and all her beautiful flowers.
Linda is survived by: daughter, Polly (Michael) Klemp, Minot; twin sons, Mark Patterson and Matthew Patterson, both Minot; grandson, Trevor; brother, Kenny (Bonnie) Borreson; nephew, Steve (Lisa) Borreson; niece, Patty (Jason) Polloch; three great-nieces, three great-nephews, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Patterson; parents, Rose and Einer Borreson; and a stillborn daughter.
