Hope Village seeks volunteers to prepare campus

Hope Village is seeking community members to assist on April 6 in getting its campus ready to welcome rebuild volunteers.

The village has been operating in “winter mode” since October, but now it’s time for the unified partner center to again provide living space for out-of-town volunteers who will be arriving to assist in rebuilding flood-damaged homes through the spring, summer and fall.

Hope Village needs volunteers to help clean cabins, move furniture and appliances, set up tents and prepare the grounds. The daylong project, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., requires no special skills. All work done will be on the campus. To sign up to volunteer, contact Steve Carbno at 240-1495.

Last season, Hope Village hosted more than 250 teams consisting of about 3,000 volunteers from 26 states and three Canadian provinces.
