More schedule changes for MSU

The Minot State University baseball and softball teams have tweaked their schedules due to a lack of playable fields.

Rather than playing two doubleheaders this week against Winona State (Minn.), the MSU baseball team will play the Warriors in a single two-game set Thursday in Sioux Falls (S.D.). The games are set for noon and 2 p.m. at Augustana College’s facility, which features a turf infield.

Today’s softball games at the University of Mary have been postponed, with no makeup date set.

The softball program’s home slate is scheduled to open with doubleheaders Friday and Saturday at South Hill Complex. As of Monday night, no determination was made on whether those games would be played.

Spring football opens next week

The Minot State University football team begins spring practice Monday.

The Beavers will hold 15 workouts in April, concluding with an intrasquad scrimmage on April 27.

MSU lost 11 seniors – including all-conference performers Mitch Haugeberg and Brett Mohr – from a team that went 3-8 in 2012. The program’s 2013 recruiting class is currently at 29 members.
