Northwest Region taps historic winners

These are recently announced winners of the North Dakota History Day Northwest Region Competition held Monday at Minot State University.

Senior level individual exhibits: Whitney Lee, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, first place; Dakota Brown, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, second place; Maci Abrahamson, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, third place.

Junior division individual exhibit: Latasha Dean, Glenburn, first place.

Senior level individual documentaries: Tessa Walters, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, first place; Jaycey Bangen, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, second place; Samantha Kok, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, third place.

Senior level individual website: Trenton Gray, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, first place; Calvin Hovde, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, second place; McKenzie Gray, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, third place.

Junior division individual website: Rebecca Haller, Glenburn, first place.

Senior division individual paper: Jesse Lee, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, first place.

Junior division group paper: Brittany Dean, Alexis Overby and Vivian Pendercast, Williston Middle School, first place.

Best project by a high school senior: Trenton Gray, Lewis and Clark-North Shore, $500 scholarship to Minot State University.

North Dakota Geographic Alliance best use of geography prize: Joey Peterson, Lewis and Clark-North Shore.

KJ’s Construction Inc. best American history prizes: Rebecca Haller, Glenburn, and Costas Kok, Lewis and Clark-North Shore.

The Northwest Regional Winners are qualified to participate in the State History Day event on April 5 in Bismarck.
