Mabel Perron

MOHALL Mabel Ann Perron, 103, Mohall, formerly of Sherwood, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at a Mohall nursing home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1909, in Donnybrook, a daughter of R.A. and Alice (Workman) Ennis. She was raised in Tagus and graduated from Tagus High School in 1927.

Mabel was united in marriage to Wilfred Perron on July 16, 1927, in Minot. They farmed in Wheaton Township, Bottineau County, and from 1946 to 1960, owned and operated Perron’s Bar in Sherwood. They retired in 1961 and moved to Minot. One year later, they moved to Mohall, where they operated the Mohall City Bar for three years before retiring again. Wilfred died in 1986.

Mabel was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Mohall, the Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens and was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She was Irish and proud of it! Her favorite saying was, “Top of the morning to you, and the rest of the day to meself.”

Family: daughter, Gayle Williams, Mohall; daughters-in-law, Jean Perron, Minot, Kay Perron, Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 18+ great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard “Dick” Ennis, Boise, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by: her parents;, husband; sons, Boyd and Dallas Perron; grandson, Mike Perron; brothers, Earl, Lester, Vernie and Harold Ennis; and sisters, Orpha Lawson, Alma Erickson, Bernice “Dee Dee” Olson, and Beatrice Ennis, who died in infancy.

Funeral: Wednesday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Mohall.

Burial: Sherwood Union Cemetery, later in the spring.

Rosary: Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m., at the church.

Visitation: Tuesday, noon to 5 p.m., at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
