Bismarck Century bests Majettes

BISMARCK – Bismarck Century’s bats were too much for Minot High in a West Region softball tilt.

The Patriots tallied 10 hits and took advantage of three errors to best the Majettes 10-4 at Kelly Softball Complex.

Minot (1-2, 1-2) jumped out to a 2-1 lead heading into the second inning, but the Majettes were held scoreless the next five frames.

“We started hitting the ball well in the first inning,” Minot coach Gerard Cederstrom. “Then we had trouble scoring and had some errors.”

Century, which scored four unearned runs, saw slugger Kaitlyn Zuraff hit a two-run homer in the third inning.

Minot was led by Haddie Lucy’s two hits and two RBIs.

The Majettes host Devils Lake on Saturday at Minot State University following the MSU doubleheader.
