Joan Perkins

MINOT Joan Perkins, 80, Minot, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.

She was born April 25, 1932, to Joseph and Clara Ruetten, on a farm near Rosen. She graduated from Williston High School. She married Fred Perkins on Jan. 13, 1950, at First Lutheran Church in Williston. She worked at several places in Minot including Miracle Mart Deli for 11 years.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and knitting. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot.

Survivors: husband, Fred Perkins; sons, Fred Perkins Jr. and his wife, Renae, of Logan, Robin Perkins, of Kulm, and Bradley Perkins and his wife Donna, of Minot.; sister, Marjorie Worlson, of Williston; brother, Warren “Bud” Ruetten and his wife, Donna, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral: A private family service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be held.

Burial: At a later date, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.
