MSU men’s basketball adds big man

The Minot State University men’s basketball team announced the signing of Alex Coleman to a national letter of intent on Thursday.

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 16 points and nine rebounds per game during his senior season for John F Kennedy High School in Denver, Colo., earning second-team Denver Prep School All-League and honorable mention all-state honors.

“We are very excited to add Alex to the Minot State University basketball program,” MSU coach Matt Murken said in a press release. “His length, athleticism and work ethic give him the chance to be a very good Division II player.”

Coleman adds some much-needed size to the Beavers roster, which has just two players listed at 6-6 or taller.

Before deciding on MSU, Coleman received interest from Division I programs University of Denver, Northern Colorado and the University of Wyoming.
