Beavers win Warrior Open

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. – The Minot State University men’s golf team won the five-team Winona State Warrior Open on Saturday with a combined score of 289, three strokes ahead of St. Cloud State University (Minn.) and Minnesota State-Mankato.

All five MSU golfers shot a 73 or better, led by sophomore Kowan O’Keefe’s 70. O’Keefe finished in a three-way tie for second behind SCSU’s Tyler Koivisto, who carded a 69.

Seniors Michael DeLorme, Blair Anderson, Matt Procyshen and Marion Hernandez all shot 73s to end their MSU careers.

O’Keefe, who won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament, is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division II regional May 5-6 in Kenosha, Wis.
