Darcy O’Connor

Darcy O’Connor, 41, of Minot, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, April 29, 2013, in her home.

Darcy Louise Charles was born Aug. 18, 1971, the daughter of John G. and Denise L. (Paulson) Charles, in Jamestown. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1989.

Following her high school graduation, she attended Minot State University and later was employed by ING.

Darcy married John O’Connor on Jan. 14, 2003, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she continued to work at ING. In 2004, Darcy opened her own daycare service, called WeeOne’s Daycare, which she operated until the time of her death.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot, where she was active in the church.

Darcy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. We’ve all been blessed abundantly with her love, caring and endless giving to everyone she touched. She enjoyed any and all acts of kindness which included but were not limited to cooking, scrapbooking, craftwork, making jewelry, playing darts and working with her daycare kids.

Her loving family includes: husband, John, Minot; daughters, Haley and Charlize, at home; son, Shane, at home; mother, Denise Charles, Cape Coral, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Darcy was preceded in death by her father, John; paternal grandparents, John L. Charles and Marilyn (Lee) Coleman; and maternal grandparents, Blanche and Keith Ackerman; and uncle, Darrin Ackerman.

A Celebration of Darcy’s Life: Will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11 a.m., in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the memorial book today, May 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Federal Credit Union, Minot, in care of the Darcy O’Connor Memorial Fund in order to set up an education fund for her three children.
