Phillip James Kallias Jr.

Phil, the son of Phillip J. Kallias Sr. and Rosemary J. (Souther) Kallias, passed away April 29, 2013, in El Mirage, Ariz.

He was born and educated in Minot. He worked as a construction worker specializing in concrete and home construction until moving to Lewiston, Idaho, where he attended Lewis and Clark State College and received an honors degree in drafting technology. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served for our country six years as a communications specialist and radar and computer repair specialist, both overseas and in the United States.

He was preceded in death by his father (Phillip Sr.), his mother (Rosemary) and a brother (David).

He is survived by Camy Walter of El Mirage; stepdaughter and son-in-law (Shandell and Tim Grekul) of Montesano, Wash.; stepson, Shane Walter (Brandy) of Bonham, Texas; a son, David, of Sante Fe, N.M., and all of his Montana extended family, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and his beloved Yorkies. We all loved him deeply and will miss him.

He is also survived by his large paternal family of Minot.

Phil fought a good fight for 15 months against a cancerous brain tumor. His remains will be returned to Minot, where he will be laid to rest with his family. All memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
