Drake student Kruse receives Jaycees’ Burdolski scholarship

Sandra Kruse, Drake, has been named a 2013 winner of the $300 North Dakota Jaycee Senate’s annual Lisa Burdolski Memorial Scholarship. The senate solicited nomination packages from high school seniors across the state, and received nearly 100 applicants.

According to a Jaycees press release, Kruse will attend the University of North Dakota.

Jaycee senate is comprised of former Jaycee members who give back to the organization by mentoring young professionals who are current members. For information about the scholarship, go to (nd.usjcisenate.org) or contact senate president Janitda Mueller at 770-1140.

Music Jam slated in May for International Music Camp

An International Music Jam will be held Friday through Sunday, May 31 through June 2, at the International Peace Garden’s Interpretive Center Building, north of Dunseith.

All are invited to bring an instrument and join in. Cost is $10 per vehicle, with discounted season passes available.

Accommodations consist of the IPG Campground or cabins, depending on availability. Provincial/state park camping is located nearby. No passports are required for U.S. or Canadian citizens.
