CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS CONVENTION HELD IN MEDORA Catholic Daughters of the America’s held their 48th biennial North Dakota State Convention in Medora on May 3, 4 and 5. The theme for the convention was “Blazing Trails of Faith through Unity and Charity.”

Members in attendance from St. Elizabeth’s Court #170, from Minot included Celeste Purdue, state treasurer, Gloria Niess, Bonnie Brunner, Arlene Fiedler, Pat Richter and Elaine Benson.

Niess was voted a member of the nominating committee for the convention to be held in Fargo in 2015.

Court St. Elizabeth, #170 placed first in Scrapbook and in spiritual enhancement, second in membership and youth projects and third in legislation and education.

The state project for the next two years will be “Night Light,” a program sharing the light in the darkness of child abuse in North Dakota. Each court in North Dakota will support this program financially and spiritually.

DATES SET FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL AT MINOT CHURCH Registration is now open for “Tell It on the Mountain”?vacation Bible school at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 200 Burdick Expressway, Minot.

The VBS, which is open to youth ages 3 through high school, will be held June 9-14.

DATE SET FOR FIRST BAPTIST XYZ MEETING ?First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 50-plus age group, will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW.

A musical program will be presented by Gene and Cindy Putnam of Minot.

Refreshments will be served.
