MHS golf team finishes fourth in BHS invite
BISMARCK – The Minot High School boys golf team finished fourth at the nine-team Bismarck High School Invite on a rainy and windy Monday at Tom O’Leary Golf Course.
Bismarck won the event with a combined score of 293, and Demon golfers Trenton Schwer and Tanner Pearson each shot 71 to tie for first individually. Bismarck Century took second with 299 strokes, followed by Jamestown (307) and Minot (308).
Sophomore Ty Jones paced the Magicians with a 75, senior Tyler Kast shot a 77 and a trio of Magicians finished with 78s.
“Ty Jones ground out a 7-over round on a miserable day,” MHS coach Scott Foltz said in a press release.
Williston finished eighth with 339 strokes and Turtle Mountain took ninth with a 375.
The teams compete at Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
