2 motorcycle riders killed in accident west of Trenton

Two motorcycle riders were killed in a crash that happened Thursday at 9:55 p.m., six miles west of Trenton.

Joshua Everett, 36, of Fort Worth, Texas, was driving a 1985 Ford van and attempted to pass a Kenworth semi, driven by Revis McElheney, 56, of Alpine, Wyo., who was traveling east. The Harley-Davidson and Suzuki motorcycles were traveling from the west when the van struck both motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson ran off the road into the south ditch, and the rider, a 20-year-old man from Fairview, Mont., was thrown off the motorcycle and struck by the semi. The Suzuki continued down the roadway in the westbound lane and came to rest facing south, but the rider of that motocycle, an 18-year-old man from Roundup, Mont., ended up in the north ditch. The Ford van came to a rest in the westbound lane facing northwest, while the semi stopped, facing east on the south shoulder.

Both motorcycle drivers were wearing helmets at the time of the crash and were both killed. Everett was injured and is under investigation. McElheney was wearing a seatbelt and not injured.
