Two injured in collision near Stanley
STANLEY Two people were injured in a two-car accident three miles north of Stanley on Friday morning.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jodi Brown, 45, Hartford, S.D., was driving a 1990 Chevrolet pickup behind Robert Bilbrey, 36, of Minot, who was driving a 2012 Kenworth pulling a tanker trailer, on Highway 83 north of Stanley. Bilbrey was slowing to make a left-hand turn into a private driveway. Brown didn’t slow down in time and struck the rear of Bilbrey’s vehicle. Bilbrey completed his left-hand turn.
Brown’s vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane of Highway 8, facing south on its wheels. Bilbrey’s vehicle came to rest in the private drive facing east on its wheels. Brown was taken first to the Stanley hospital by ambulance, then airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot for treatment of her injuries. Her condition was not available.
The Highway Patrol and the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
The accident happened at 7:35 a.m. Friday.
