Metros win sixth straight

DICKINSON – The Minot Metros swept Dickinson in a junior American Legion doubleheader Sunday.

Alex Arrayan was the winning pitcher in game one and Liam Owens earned the save in the 3-1 win. Arrayan also finished 2-for-2 at the plate in game one and 4-for-4 with three RBIs in game two as the Metros won 12-5 for their sixth straight win.

“We played really good, solid defense and we were focused at the plate,” Metros coach Jason Steele said. “Kind of just put it all together for seven innings in both games, which was nice to see.”

Hunter Duttenhefer earned the win in game two. The Metros took advantage of two Dickinson errors in each game. Minot plays at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Forks.
