Minot opens bids on new airport terminal
Minot city officials will be working to finalize airport financing in the next few weeks after getting a low bid of $40.7 million to construct a new commercial terminal.
Andrew Solsvig, airport director, said the low bid came in about 6 percent over the engineer’s estimate, and the city will need to confirm with state and federal agencies regarding fundings available before awarding a contract. The state has offered nearly $22 million for Minot airport projects, including the terminal. The city also is seeking federal discretionary funds.
The city received seven bids at a bid opening Tuesday, although not all covered the entire scope of the terminal project. The lowest bid was $40.7 million from Graham Construction. The firm has done work for Minot Air Force Base and has been involved in airport-related construction in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
The current plan is for construction completion in December 2015.
