Vistas split with Williston

WILLISTON – The Minot Vistas stranded a plethora of runners on base, but came away with a series split against Williston on Wednesday in the American Legion baseball doubleheader.

The Vistas struck early in game one, scoring twice in the first inning before needing 10 innings to post a 5-2 victory. A lack of timely hitting doomed Minot in a 7-4 loss in game two.

“We didn’t swing it real well with guys in scoring position,” Vistas coach Todd Larson said.

Minot (16-11 overall, 8-4 state standings) committed three errors in the game-two loss.

Minot hosts Beulah at 5:30 p.m. today at Corbett Field.
