‘Marlene and Friends’ Sunday in Stanley

STANLEY – Stanley native Marlene Hoirup, the co-artistic director for the Sibyl Center in Stanley, will present her annual summer program, “Marlene and Friends,” Sunday at 3 p.m.

Hoirup, a pianist, will be joined by her husband, Don, a baritone, who she met while she was at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, plus other vocalists on the program.

A graduate of Northwestern University and of Juilliard, Marlene Hoirup completed post graduate studies at the Hoch Schule fur Musik, in Frankfurt, Germany.

She is currently a faculty member at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C. She appears as a soloist and chamber musician and has performed throughout the U.S. and Germany, including Voice of America radio broadcasts representing North Dakota.

This is family program, with admission a suggested donation of $5.
