Inez Luella Folden

Inez Luella Folden, 92, of New Town and Parshall, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, in a Minot hospital.

Inez was born May 11, 1921, to Sigvart and Mamie Rakstad on a farm near Kempton. The family moved to Palermo when Inez was 8 years old. She completed her education in Palermo and graduated from high school in 1939. She worked for a while at Trinity Hospital and later attended beauty school in Bismarck. She then worked at Ellison’s Beauty Salon in Minot until her marriage to Rudolph Folden on June 12, 1946.

They lived and farmed near Raub where they raised their five children. They spent several winters in Zapata, Texas, where Inez enjoyed crafting with the many friends she met. In 1977, Rudy and Inez moved from the farm into a home in Parshall. In 2009 Rudy and Inez moved into Lakeside Community Living Center in New Town where Inez continued to live following Rudy’s death on March 1, 2010.

Inez enjoyed baking, crocheting, golfing, playing cards with friends, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Parshall.

Inez is survived by: her daughters, Colleen Kilber (Ron) of Parshall, Bonnie Porter (Keith) of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Judy Folden, of Moorhead, Minn.; grandchildren, Kari Kjersti, Peder Kilber, Mark Folden (Trisha), Anna Blitz (Brad), Jason Kilber (Lacie Christensen), Kent Folden (Kirsten), Zach Johnson (Jessie), Kevin Porter (Aundrea), Holly Bell (Cedrick) and Lisa Appiah (Isaac);18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; son, Ron; daughter, Karen Bohmer; brothers, Mac, Odin, Norin, Robert; and sisters, Anna Clark, Margaret Martens, Harriet Nelson and Marrian Pusc.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Parshall.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a memorial register today, Monday, from noon to 5 p.m. in Langhans Funeral Home, Parshall.

Interment: Lucky Mound Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Parshall.
