Second aerial mosquito spraying planned

The second aerial spraying for mosquitoes in Minot and Williston is planned for this week.

The dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions and without notice:

Tuesday (tonight): Minot Air Force Base area

Wednesday: City of Minot

Thursday: Williston area

The spraying will take place between 7 and 10:30 p.m.

The Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Ohio will be applying U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registered pesticides for adult mosquito control. The applications will be made using a modified C-130H cargo aircraft at 150 feet above ground level.

For more specific information on the date and time, people can call the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron pest management office at Minot AFB at 723-2393. Callers should provide contact information and someone will return their call shortly before take-off time. This will allow those sensitive to the chemicals time to leave the spray area.
