Tetons add Utah pitcher
The Williston State College baseball team has signed Hayden Knotts, coach Shawn Cote announced Tuesday.
Knotts – a native of Payson, Utah – was a Utah Valley all-star and was selected to the 2013 all-state team as a senior at Payson High School. The 5-foot-8 pitcher went 7-2 last season with 63 strikeouts and a 2.41 ERA in 12 appearances.
“We are very happy to have Hayden join the Teton program,” Cote said. “He has the skill set, work ethic and the drive to become a very good player for us in the next couple years. I believe Hayden will be able to help us in any role we ask of him during the season. Players like Hayden are crucial to the success of the program.”

UND’s Kohler invited to camp
University of North Dakota women’s ice hockey sophomore forward Becca Kohler was among 40 players invited by Hockey Canada on Monday to attend Canada’s National Women’s Development Team selection camp.
Kohler played 38 games for UND last season, totaling 12 points (four goals, eight assists) as the team appeared in its second consecutive NCAA postseason.
The 6-foot, St. Thomas, Ontario, native has twice represented Canada in the Under-18 World Championship. Canada won gold in 2012 and silver in 2011. Kohler registered five points in each tournament. This year, she helped lead Canada’s Under-22 team to the gold medal at the 2013 Meco Cup in Fussen, Germany.
Thirteen players invited to the camp will earn a spot on Canada’s National Women’s Team in Calgary, Alberta, for training to prepare for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The development camp is scheduled for Aug. 10-18 in Calgary.
