Margaret Duchsherer

Margaret Duchsherer, 85, Voltaire, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013.

Margaret Reiger, the daughter of Philip and Barbara (Wolf) Reiger, was born April 1, 1928, on her parents’ farm northwest of Orrin, where she grew up and attended country school.

On Oct. 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to Anton “Tony” Duchsherer in Orrin. They farmed in the Verendrye area all their adult lives.

Margaret was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe.

Margaret is survived by: her children, Irene (Dan) Keller, Minot, Ken (Michelle) Duchsherer, Minot, Ida (John) Hester, Las Vegas, Sandra (Bruce) Stroklund, Minot, Terry (Cindy) Duchsherer, Voltaire, and Galen (Pamela) Duchsherer, Minot; son-in-law, Dale Gange, Minot; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clemens (Loretta) Reiger, of Parker, Colo., Ed Reiger, Las Vegas, and Pius (Barbara) Reiger, Las Vegas; sisters, Elizabeth Keller, of Drake, and Agnes Breckner, Las Vegas; brothers-in-law, Ed Lemer, of Drake, and Pete Ziegler, Minot; sister-in-law, Magdeline Reiger, Ogden, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anton “Tony,” who passed away in 1998; daughter, Elaine Gange, who passed away in 1986; brothers, Frank, Louie, Wendlin, Joe and Peter; sisters, Helen Ziegler, Rose Mary Reiger, Irene Mattis, and Opal Lemer; and son-in-law, Mike Hampy.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.

Visitation: Monday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Rosary/vigil prayer service: Monday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe.
