FIRST BAPTIST XYZ TO MEET THURSDAY ?First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 50-plus age group, will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW, Minot.

The program, “Eye Care for Seniors,” will be presented by Dr. Jill Martinson-Redekopp of Trinity Regional Eye Care in Minot.

Refreshments will be served.

BREAKFAST PLANNED TO WELCOME FILIPINOS A welcoming potluck lunch will be hosted by Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot to offer a warm welcome to all the Filipino people in the community.

The potluck will follow the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Aug. 25 in the church dining room at 707-16th Ave. SW.

People who attend are asked to bring a dish to share.

DATE FOR RUMMAGE, BAKE SALE ?Vincent United Methodist Women, of Minot, will hold a rummage sale on Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a change from the usual weekday to allow more people to attend.

A lunch of salad and sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. until gone. Sweet treats will be available all day. Bag bargains will be sold from 1 to 2 p.m.

A bake sale will be held in conjunction with the rummage sale. There will also be garden produce for sale.

The church is located at 1024-2nd St. SE. Customers are asked to use the south entrance to the church.

TWO CHURCHES MERGE, BECOME OPEN GATE CHURCH ?Two Minot churches, Spiritual Life Christian Fellowship and Higher Grounds Christian Fellowship, have merged and are now known as Open Gate Church. Services are held at 234-14th Ave. SE, Minot. The church teachings relate to the International Christian Leadership Connections Apostolic Network.

Roy Leavitt and Bob Adkins will serve as pastors of the church.

Sunday worship services are at 10:30 a.m., with a discipleship service at 7 p.m. Bible studies will begin Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. and Friday worship and prayer services will resume Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
