Group’s stunt unacceptable

Cody Stanley, Grand Forks

North Dakota made national news recently when a Right to Life group registered for the State Fair parade filled “candy bags” with miniature toy fetuses, and gave them to unsuspecting children, shocking the kids, their parents, and parade officials. However one feels about abortion, everyone can agree that this stunt showed an appalling disregard for the parent-child bond. It may be impossible to find a more egregious example of a group pushing their agenda on children without asking the parents first.

By now, we should expect such high-handedness from these folks. After all, they also favor laws that intrude on the privacy between a woman and her doctor. Therefore, it is unsurprising that they would thrust themselves between parents and their kids, too.
