Unsafe driving

James Cron, Flaxton

Driving attitudes in North Dakota have to change. Last Friday, on my way to Fargo via Minot on Highway 52, I noted that between Velva and Jamestown, five vehicles ran stop signs while turning on to ’52.’ Two looked commercial, the other three looked like ag or local. Thankfully, none were out of state or oil field, so we can skip the usual route of denial and blame. None of the entry’s were “yields,” all had stop signs.

I implore drivers not be lulled into a false sense of security; to stop and look before you proceed, and not make a habit of running a stop sign because it is in a rural setting. Drive like your life depends on it. I, too, will try to take my own advice.
