County awards bid for office building

Ward County commissioners made their final motions on the development of the upcoming Ward County office building Thursday morning.

After significant and often emotional and busy debate the final motion was to add six alternates to Minot-based Mattson Construction’s winning base bid of $10,197,000.

The first two alternates will build a complete fourth floor on the north-portion of the building, the third alternate will create the “Skyway,” or suspended walkway, between the county courthouse and the office building, the fourth will upgrade the walls to a composite material, the fifth will create wooden ceilings, and the last will deduct the atrium stairs between floors two and three.
