Marion Golly, 86, Minot, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Marion Gehring was born on May 11, 1927, a daughter of Philip and Emma (Eberhardt) Gehring, in Lincoln Township, N.D. She was raised with her 12 siblings Art, Delbert, Ruben, Marvin, Raymond, Melvin, Evelyn, Irene, Sally, Esther, Ruby and Alice in Lincoln Township.
Marion was married to Lyle “Slim” Golly. Together, along with their daughter, Shirley Mae Light, they owned and operated the Blue Moon Bar and the Stockmen’s Lounge in east Minot. She also owned and operated the Covered Wagon in downtown Minot.
She enjoyed listening to country music, playing bingo, fishing and doing crafts. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Marion is survived by: great-grandchildren, Melissa Carreira, Alisha Hopkins, Michael Davy and Alexis Rau. Several siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Marion was preceded in death by: her parents; former husband; daughter, Shirley Mae Light; two granddaughters, Lori Carreira and Julie Yeakel; and some of her siblings.
Funeral service: Monday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Monday, Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
