Minot Milling fire
Minot firefighters respond to a fire at Minot Milling on 55th Street Northeast in Minot Thursday. The fire was first reported at about 5 p.m. A motor on the fifth floor of the mill had caught fire for an unknown reason, but workers on the scene were able to put the fire out for the most part before the firefighters arrived on scene. “There were some holes in some doors and they were pretty much able to shoot the fire extinguishers in there,” said Minot Fire Department Battalion Chief Dean Lenertz. The first crew to respond took the inner stairwell but later this ladder was deployed so that the firefighters could be just outside the building to communicate on their radios which didn’t function clearly from within the metal structure.
