Florence C. Bloms, 97, Minot, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at a Minot nursing home.
Florence was born April 13, 1916, near Carpio, the daughter of William and Mathilda Bloms. She was raised and educated near Carpio.
In the 1940s Florence moved to Minot, where she began working at various business establishments and attended Minot Business College. In 1950, Florence moved to Spokane, Wash., where she worked for two years before returning to Minot in 1952. Florence went to work at American Bank, where she worked for 12 years and then Ellison’s Department Store, where she worked for 13 years and later at the Ward County Courthouse in the Treasurer’s Office, where she retired in 1981.
Survivors: sister, Irene Bloms, Minot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Frank, Joseph, Raymond, Edward, Arnold, Alex and Leonard Bloms.
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Recitation of the holy rosary: Monday, 10 a.m., at the church.
Visitation: Sunday, Sept. 15, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
