Puck dropped for Maysa expansion projects
Minot residents, user groups, and well-wishers cluster to break bread and grill hotdogs Thursday evening, celebrating the start of Maysa Arena expansion activities. The project in its entirety is expected to cost from $6.5 million to $7.5 million, and with “just shy of $3 million” already secured from public and private sources, Minot Hockey Boosters director Jarrod Olson explained that phases of the work should begin next May. In addition to building a third sheet of ice, renovation of the facility’s east rink and improvements of its office and locker areas are planned. With luck, “we should be skating on our third sheet by the fall of 2015,” he said.
