WSC receives large diesel grant

Williston State College’s diesel technology program received a $10,000 donation from Tractor & Equipment. The Caterpillar Foundation matched Tractor & Equipment’s gift with an additional $10,000, bringing the total donation to $20,000.

The first $10,000 of the donation will be earmarked for scholarships for incoming and current diesel students. The remainder will be used on equipment, supplies and technology as well as to assist students in participation at statewide Skills USA competitions.

This funding will be used during the 2013-2014 academic year, evaluated at the end of that period, and can be given on an annual basis, according to a press release issued by the college.

DCB lauded as military friendly

Dakota College at Bottineau was named to Victory Media’s Military Friendly Schools list.

The 2014 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

A full story and detailed list of 2014 Military Friendly Schools will be highlighted in the annual Guide to Military Friendly Schools, distributed in print and digital format to hundreds of thousands of active and former military personnel in early October.
