Tauros fall in final minutes

BLAINE, Minn. – The Minot Minotauros fought back from a two-goal deficit late in the third period, but allowed the game-winning goal with 1 minute, 6 seconds left in a 5-4 loss to Corpus Christi (Texas) in the North American Hockey League Showcase on Wednesday.

Trailing 4-2 midway through the third period, Minot (0-1) cut the Ice Rats’ lead in half on a goal by forward Cameron Rowat at 10:36. Forward Jadin Martin tied the game with 2:28 remaining, but Corpus Christi’s Maurin Bouvet gave the Ice Rats (1-2) the lead for good less than two minutes later.

The Tauros fell behind 2-0 less than 10 minutes into the first period, but erased the deficit with goals by Jack Forbort and Jake McCann.

Minot dropped to 1-8 all time at the NAHL Showcase.

The Tauros play Port Huron (Mich.) at 1:15 p.m. today.
