Roosevelt Park Zoo set to hibernate for year

The last full day of Roosevelt Park Zoo’s operations for the year will be on Oct. 6. Its visitor center will continue to be open during the week throughout the off season, available for party rentals and the like. In addition, it will have one-off events such as the “Zoo Boo” at Halloween and Christmas events as well.

Despite the late start and ongoing flood recovery projects the zoo reports that it has broken attendence records, with approximately 85,000 visitors. “Our greatest asset is the fact that the people of Minot and surrounding areas really love their zoo,” said the zoo director, Dave Merritt. “It’s just one of the things that keep us wanting to do our best.”
