Two to be honored as Eagle Scouts

Matthew Fiskum and Kelsey Hoffart, both of Minot, will be honored for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout during an Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway, Minot.

Fiskum attends Magic City Campus. His hobbies include reading, camping, target shooting, astronomy and American military history. Since his beginning in Cub Scouts in 2002, Fiskum has held a variety of leadership roles in Troop 425, including his current service as assistant scoutmaster. Fiskum’s Eagle Scout Project involved planning and organizing both volunteers and materials in painting along with repairing and replacing the shelving of the two adoption rooms at the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.

Hoffart attends Magic City Campus where he is a member of the National Honor Society. His hobbies include swimming, playing soccer, and spending time with family and working. Since beginning in Cub Scouts in 2002, Hoffart has held a variety of leadership roles in Troop 425, including his current service as assistant scoutmaster. Hoffart’s Eagle Scout Project involved planning and organizing both volunteers and materials in the reconstruction of the flamingo shelter and the animal feed boxes at Roosevelt Park Zoo that were damaged by the 2011 flood.
