HOOPS IS NEW ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF MINOT, DOUGLAS CHURCHES The Rev. Alex Hoops was recently installed as the associate pastor of Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 1415-17th Ave. SW, Minot, by Sherie Heine, assistant to the bishop for the Western North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He also serves as associate pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Douglas.

Hoops is originally from southwest Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.

He and his wife, Emily, have one daughter.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S GROUP TO MEET TUESDAY Minot Christian Women’s Club will meet Tuesday from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in the Vegas Motel, Minot.

Randy Bell, of Minot, will provide information about “The Welcome Table.” Heidi Studer, of Perham, Minn., will be the speaker. Her topic will be “Defining Moments: History in the Making.”

People are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantries in Minot.

FLEISCHKUECHLE GERMAN SUPPER TO BE HELD TODAY IN GARRISON CHURCH A fleischkuechle German supper will be served today from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison.

Delivery service will be available by calling 463-2019 prior to 4 p.m. the day of the supper. Deliveries will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Proceeds of the supper will benefit Camp of the Cross Ministries. A silent auction, being held in conjunction with the supper, will benefit Camp of the Cross Capital Campaign.

FAITH UNITED CHURCH TO HOST ‘PARTY ON THE PRAIRIE’ ON SUNDAY Faith United Methodist Church, of Minot, will host a “Party on the Prairie” Sunday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on the church grounds at 5900 U.S. Highway 83 N.

The event will include hayrides, miniature horses, a bounce house, local clowns Dizzy and Cloudy, food, music, games, a children’s craft area, s’mores and more.

The event is free.

ROAST PORK DINNER TO BE SERVED IN PLAZA CHURCH A pork roast dinner will be served Oct. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, Plaza. A bazaar will be held in conjunction with the dinner.

Cost of the dinner will be $12 for adults and $5 for youth ages 5 to 11. There will be no charge for preschoolers. Takeout meals will be available.
