Wanita Tarr, 64, Minot, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in her home in Minot.
Wanita was born Dec. 19, 1948, the daughter of Wesley and Opal (Torgerson) Tarr, in Breckenridge, Minn. She was raised in Colfax until the age of 4, when she was placed into the care of the Grafton State School. She remained there until September 2000, when she was enrolled for services at the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop, now known as KALIX. During this time, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and other community volunteer opportunities.
She was always carefree and never complained. She had a big heart, loved everybody and didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She enjoyed swinging, shopping, eating out, getting her hair done and the outdoors.
Surviving family includes: mother and father, Wesley and Opal Tarr, Milwaukee, Ore.; brothers, Dick (Cheryl) Tarr, Milwaukee, Ore., Dennis (Linda) Tarr, Portland, Ore., and Ben (Robin) Tarr, Milwaukee, Ore.; sister, Rositta (Marty) Tharp, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Service: Monday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m., in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
Memorials: are preferred to KALIX.
