Kelly Joe Rambel, 51, Minot, formerly of Stanley, has gone to be with our Lord after a long battle with cancer on Oct. 15, 2013. He was surrounded at his home by his family and friends. His funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m., at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Stanley.
Kelly was born Oct. 18, 1961, to Marvin O. and Carol (Walker) Rambel. He attended Stanley High School and Williston Community College, where he majored in auto body. He worked for John’s Auto Body, Minot, and J & J Body in Burlington. He then worked on the oil rigs and was most recently employed by Watco.
Kelly enjoyed going to the movies, gardening, fishing, watching NASCAR and other car races, but his passion was IMCA Hobby Stock and working on his stock car. He loved racing, and won many awards through the years with Donelle as his #1 cheerleader.
He is survived by: his son, Aaron Nelson, Minot; father, Marvin Ole Rambel, Minot; mother, Carol J. Rowe, Tucson, Ariz.; significant other, Donelle Radzus, Minot; brother, Marvin O. Rambel, Jr., Tucson; sisters, Milinda Rambel (Jon) Stone, Minneapolis, Minn., Melissa Anderson, Minot, Brenda Rambel, Tucson; stepsister, Pamela Axtman, Minot; stepbrothers, Rodney Rowe, of Illinois, and David Rowe, Minneapolis; great-grandmother, Pauline Walker; and nieces, nephews and grandkids.
