Gov. names interim ex. dir. of Job Service N.D.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple named Minot native Darren Brostrom interim executive director of Job Service North Dakota, effective Nov. 1. Brostrom, who has worked with the agency for 13 years, has served as director of unemployment insurance for the past six years. He will serve as interim director with the departure of Maren Daley. Daley has served as Job Service’s executive director since December 2000. The governor’s office is conducting a search for a permanent appointment of the executive director.

Brostrom began working with Job Service North Dakota in 2000 as benefits manager, implementing and managing a centralized Unemployment Insurance Claims Center. In 2005 he was promoted to associate director, Unemployment Insurance Program, managing the day-to-day operations. In 2007 he was named director of unemployment insurance. Brostrom has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Minot State University.
