Wildrose native tapped to lead NDCHF

Kevin Holten, a native of Wildrose, is the new executive director of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. He began the position Oct. 1.

He replaces Ray Morrell, who resigned earlier this year.

He graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a degree in journalism and arts. He also has competed among various associations as a saddle bronc rider, steer wrestler and team roper. He produced an NDRA-sanctioned rodeo this past summer in Medora, the first since 1992. He was previously involved with media and marketing for the Dickinson State University Foundation. He also is managing editor of The Drill, based in Fargo and distributed in western North Dakota.

Holten lives in Dickinson and is commuting between there and Mandan, where the Hall of Fame corporate office is located, and Medora, where the Hall of Fame’s Center of Western Heritage & Cultures: Native American, Ranching and Rodeo is located.
