S.D. trucker injured in collision
ALEXANDER Robert W. Collins, 61, Sioux Falls, S.D., was injured when his 1999 Kenworth Conventional semi truck struck another semi on U.S. Highway 85 about five miles south of Alexander at about 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Collins was traveling westbound on the highway when his vehicle struck the right rear of a 2006 Kenworth straight truck driven by Michael D. Knieff, 54, Daingerfield, Texas. Knieff was negotiating a left turn at the time.
Collins was transported to Mercy Hospital in Williston and his vehicle sustained severe damage after overturning and coming to rest on its roof in the south ditch. Knieff was uninjured and his vehicle sustained only minor damage.
